Day 01: Hanoi - Mai Chau ~170 km.
Once out of the traffic in Hanoi, we pass through limestone monoliths and into foothills populated by Muong people in Hoa Binh province.
Then we head straight at the main range before reaching a high and beautiful forested pass, which descends into the hidden valley of Mai Chau where we spend the night with friends in a traditional Thai stilt house in Poom Coong village.

Day 02: Mai Chau - Sonla ~180 km.
On good road looking high over distant mountains we head up into a forested region populated by H’mong people before descending into a mountainous tea-growing region .
Soon after we follow a long valley floor covered in a sea of rice surrounded by Black Thai villages all the way to Son La. O/n in hotel.

Day 03: Sonla - Laichau ~200 km.
Very nice road and stunning landscape, we dominate over 15 passes and the most well-known is Phadin which is considered as the interference between Heaven and Earth. Pha Din forms a natural border between Son La and Dien Bien Phu, the site of the decisive battle in Vietnam's struggle for independence in 1954.
While passing these scenic sites, you can enjoy the beautiful landscape on your way from Son La to Lai Chau town. O/n in hotel.

Day 04: Lai chau - Tamduong ~150 km.
The most demanding and remote section of the drive takes us upstream along the left side of a Black River tributary through forest on a bumpy dirt road past isolated pockets of Tay, Thai, H’mong and Man peoples before breaching a pass to enter the Tam Duong plain, which is covered in shark’s teeth like limestone karsts. O/n in hotel.

Day 05: Tam Duong - Sapa ~90 km.
Tam Duong market in the morning. There are colorful ethnic groups living in Tam Duong: Black H’mong and Dzao.
In the afternoon, ride on dirt road, through villages of Lu, Giay and H'mong people before passing Muong Kim river to Lao Cai province. Climb Tram Ton pass, the most beautiful one in Sapa from where we have stunning mountain view at sunset. O/n in hotel.

Day 06: Sapa - Bac Ha - Sin Man ~150 km.
In the morning, ride down to Lao Cai town to visit Lao Cai border gate with China. Then rolling along route 70 to Bac Ngam for a breathtaking scenery of mountain and river view before heading up mountain pass to Bac Ha for our lunch and short hiking to some H'mong villages.
In the afternoon, we continue the small trail to Xin Man in the wild rocky road. Hope it doesn't rain, otherwise we have to ride in the mud as a water-buffalo. The scenery on the way to Xin Man is amazing. O/n in hotel.

Day 07: Xin Man - Thac Ba ~170 km.
One special day begins by heading south on the bumpy, dirty, and muddy road. Luckily, we climb up hill on a good road and enjoy riding down with beautiful scenery of rice paddies on the mountain sides. It is impossible in the rain. We will stop in many villages for chatting and talking with local people to discover about their cultures.
After about 3 hours riding, we meet a good road, but still small and wild. That would be great for rolling a bike through rice fields, limestone mountain karsts of Luc Yen.
After lunch, keep riding for another 60 km to a beautiful village of Dao Quan Trang people on the lakeside. Leave our bikes there with the cows and buffaloes, jump on a small boat sailing away and enjoy swimming.

Day 8: Thac Ba - Hanoi ~170 km.
Easy cruise along Chay River on small dirt river bank through villages of Kinh people and beautiful maize and rice-fields. The guide will organize to ride back to Hanoi before rush hour. End our adventure.
