Day 01: Hanoi - Thac Ba Lake ~180 km.
Quite a long drive but easy from Hanoi to Thac Ba lake where we will spend the night with our friends. The road is sealed and quiet mostly when we are in the countryside. We arrive in the lake at around 5 pm - exceptional welcome. Homestay with Dzao people.

Day 02: Thac Ba lake - Babe National Park ~180 km.
Walk to visit around the village in the morning then we drive to Babe. The people are very friendly along our trip, everywhere we stop for photo or for drinks the chilren and old people come and chat with us. We stay with Tay people on their stilt-house.

Day 03: Ba Be National Park.
We spend all day to explore Babe lake. Easy boating on the lake and river, stop at waterfall, beautiful swim…. Down the waterfall, we could visit the village and a small school. Homestay with our Tay friends.

Day 04: Ba Be - Quang Uyen ~170 km.
We follow the small road belong the beautiful lake then ride up to Cao Bang province. Few passes from where you can dominate the area. The road is easy but many curves, we reach the beautiful village of Quang Uyen, in the middle of limestone mountains - territory of Nung people. Spend the night in guest-house.

Day 05: Quang Uyen ~100 km.
We drive to Trung Khanh ethnic market to buy foods for the picnic lunch then continue to Ban Gioc warterfall. Having obtained permission from the border police we make our way through spectacular scenery to Vietnam's most impressive waterfalls. Weather permitting we can swim right up to where the 50 m high falls hit the river. On return, we can stop to visit Natau village.Overnight in guest-house.

Day 06: Quang Uyen - Mau Son ~180 km.
Drive from Quang Uyen to Lang Son. Continue driving toward the border from Lang Son to Mau Son. Mau Son is 30 km away from Lang Son, 1.541m above sea level. Quite cool in the evening! Night in the guesthouse of Mau Son Resort.

Day 07: Mau Son - Hanoi ~180 km.
Promenade around Mau Son in the morning. Ride down to Lang Son to have lunch. The road is asphalted all the way and it takes 3 and half hours to drive back to Hanoi.
